Nerlens headin' Back to the Future

Nerlens Noel pulls a Michael J Fox, returns to Class of 2012

- As first reported by ESPN's Dave Telep, Tilton All-American Nerlens Noel announced last night that he is reverse-reclassifying back to the Class of 2012.  Along with this reverse-classification announcement, the big fella from Everett also dropped a seven-school list.  Let the ping-pong ball scramble begin for the best big man to come out of New England since Patrick Ewing.  View Dave Telep's ESPN Insider piece

 NEPSAC AA+ Top 10 - 1/29/12
1) Tilton (20-3) - The Rams got their 20th win of the season yesterday by holding off a tough Phillips Andover squad to win 66-62.  Marcus O'Neil's club has a big one coming up on Sunday as they'll face Christian Faith Academy at the National Prep School Invitational.

2) St Marks (16-2) - Michigan-bound Nick Stauskas led the way with 16 points as St Marks beat Belmont Hill yesterday by a final of 76-50.  The Lions will host Thayer Academy on Saturday afternoon.

3) Wilbraham and Monson (16-4) - Big one tonight for the Titans as they play Notre Dame Prep at the NPSI.  Note:  Floor-general Jaylen Brantley has recently added offers from Georgia and Rutgers.

4) Kimball Union (14-3) - Got back to business yesterday with an easy 66-41 win over Masters behind 24 points from Rick Naylor and 17 points and 8 dimes from Devin Thomas.  The Wildcats will host Brimmer and May on Saturday.

5) Vermont Academy (12-7) - Jesse Bopp's club gets back it tomorrow night as they'll play Winchendon at the NPSI.

6) Cushing Academy (12-5) - Lost a 61-58 heart-breaker to NMH on Wednesday.  The Penguins are right back at it tonight against Phelps down in RI at the NPSI.

7) St Andrews (15-5) - Lost at home to Worcester Academy on Monday.  They'll play MCI on Saturday night at the NPSI.

7) Putnam Science (13-7) - Lost 88-50 to Brewster Academy yesterday.  Senior forward Oscar Assie led the Mustangs with 22.

7) Worcester Academy (9-8) - The Hilltoppers won two this week, beating St Andrews 51-47 on Monday behind 25 points from Rene Castro and then winning 74-56 over Marianapolis on Wednesday behind 28 points from UC-Davis-bound guard Olivier Paul-Betu.  This weekend, Jamie Sullivan's club will play Phelphs (PA) and New Hope (MD) on Friday and Saturday at the NPSI.

10) Marianapolis (9-11) - They've won two of their last three, earning wins over US Military Academy Prep and Brimmer and May while falling to Worcester Academy.  Note:  Sophomore forward Bobby Ahearn exploded for 20 points and 23 rebounds for Marianapolis in their win over Brimmer and May.
