Darrick Wood is committed to Steve Lavin at St Johns |
DC & Brooklyn Duo team up
- With the NCAA-eligibility problems currently going on with NIA Prep (NJ) alumni, numerous current NIA student-athletes are choosing to play it safe and are transferring elsewhere. According to Adam Zagoria, among those transferring from NIA is St John's commit Darrick Wood ('12), a 6'4 shooting guard who is headed to New England to attend Bridgeton Academy in Maine to play for Coach Whit Lesure. Wood is a trampoline artist who spent the summer playing alongside Kyle Anderson with the NJ Playaz. He is a native of Washington DC and is ranked #104 in the Rivals.com Class of 2012 national rankings.

Also headed to Bridgeton is 6'6 wing Malik Nichols ('12) of Brooklyn who was formerly committed to Hofstra and whose recruitment is now open. He attended Boys & Girls HS in NYC last year and played AAU ball for the New York Metrohawks.
