NEPSAC AAA + AA Saturday Recap

 Wildcard Weekend NEPSAC Report
- NEPSAC AAA: South Kent started out the season impressively with five straight wins before dropping four in a row heading into the holidays.  Well, yesterday, they got back on track, earning a 92-82 victory to hand Northfield Mount Hermon their first set-back of the season.  South Kent, now 6-4, will take the floor again today at home against NIA Prep out of New Jersey...In other AAA action, Maine Central Institute started the new year with a 82-70 win over Philips Exeter to move to 5-6 on the season...In NEPSAC AA action, undefeated Cushing Academy traveled to Tilton for a shot at the AA Belt, but the Penguins were unable to pose a threat to the Rams as Tilton coasted to a 66-45 win to retain the Belt and move to 12-2 on the season, while the loss drops Cushing to 8-1...Vermont Academy won for the second day in a row, defeating the Masters School 58-47 to bring their record to 7-3...Worcester Academy won big over Lawrence Academy to move to 5-4 on the season...Kimball Union pulled off a big upset on the road, knocking off Marianapolis by a score of 59-56 behind a 15 point/15 rebound double-double from sophomore forward Abdul Malik-Abu.  Kachi Nzerem finished with 26 for MP. With the win, KUA improves to 11-2 while Marianapolis falls to 6-4...St Marks got an easy 69-35 win over Milton Academy to improve to 10-2 on the season behind 22 from Nik Stauskas and 13 from Kaleb Tarczwski.
