BABC Veterans Day Classic Notes

Veterans Day Classic
- This past weekend in Boston, Leo Papile's Boston Amatuer Basketball Club hosted its' annual fall tournament, the BABC Veterans Day Classic.  In the freshmen division, Bobby Martin, Terrence Mann, Bruce Brown, and Jordan Scurry led BABC to a 3-0 weekend record and the VDC 15u Chip.  At the sophomore level, BABC went 2-o on the weekend behind the strong back-court play of Johnathan Joseph and Jalen Adams, the potent long-range marksmanship of Tyler Nelson, the Top Gun threat of Curtis Cobb and Damion Smith on th wings, and the hard-nosed inside duo of Bobby Ahearn and Tyree Robinson. ..Also in 16u play, the New England Playaz knocked off the RI Hawks in a tight one in what many dubbed as the game of the weekend.  According to multiple sources, both Jarred Reuter '15 of the Playaz and Henry Bolton of the Hawks were playing at a very high level as Reuter finished the game with 30 points and 16 boards and Bolton dropped in 26 while scattering splashes of steals, assists, and rebounds. Also heard that Markus Neale was very impressive with 19 points for the Boston Spartans in their game against BABC...In the 17u division, the BABC juniors got together one last time before the scholastic season starts, earning a victory over the Middlesex Magic late Sunday afternoon with a roster of Nerlens Noel, Goodluck Okonoboh, Wayne Selden, Kamari Robinson, L'Quan Arnum, Kamali Bey, and Tyrese Hoxter. (Jaylen Brantley had to be on the WMA campus)...With the 2011 Fall AAU Season officially in the books, the coordinates on the Spaceship time-machine have now been set for the looming New England scholastic basketball season.
