Jaylen Brantley has a knack for Florida Magic |
Black&Gold Inner-Squad Scrimmage
- Up here in The Colony, we are all stuck battling our first real crippling cold stretch of the winter; however, there are a couple of New England squads who escaped the cold by sneakin' down to FLA to compete in the City of Palms Classic. On Monday afternoon, Wilbraham & Monson went up against Urspringschule out of Germany in their first round game and came away with a 60-59 win thanks to the heroics of Jaylen Brantley, who had 21 for the game and hit a tear-dropper in the lane with under 2 seconds remaining to give the now 8-2 Titans the win...Later on Monday, Tilton played their 1st-Rounder against a Friends Central HS team out of Philly featuring ESPN #24 ranked senior Amile Jefferson. It was wasn't pretty, as Tilton gave Friends an 80-50 thirty-piece-McNugget. Leading the way for the now 9-2 Rams was Nerlens Noel, who had 9 points and 17 rebounds, and Georges Niang, who led the scoring with 20...With both New England squads earning first-round wins, the City of Palms Table has been set for a 2nd-Round show-down between WMA and Tilton tonight in Florida. Heard some of the guys on those teams know each other...Stay Tuned.
