All Preps out the Gate
- Yesterday was a an action-packed day of prep hoops in New England with some big games on the docket.  Let's take a look...Up in New Hampshire, Tilton pulled away from Worcester Academy in the second half to win by a score of 77-62.  George's Niang came back from a bogus one-game suspension to drop 33 to lead the Rams while Nerlens Noel registered a Nutrageous line of 12 points, 8 boards, 7 dimes, 5 blocks and 5 steals.  For Worcester, Rene Castro came through with an impressive 25 points against his summertime teammates...Tilton is now 5-1 on the season while Worcester is now 2-2.  Tilton will play in the Brewster Invitational this weekend while Worcester is set to host the Blackburn Invitational...In Thompson, CT, Marianapolis bested Hotchkiss in big early-season Class AA tilt.  Nigel Sydnor and Kristian Medina led the scoring with 21 apiece while Bobby Ahearn finished with 9 points and 13 boards...Also in CT, Hamden Hall traveled to Putnam Science Academy and earned a 70-60 upset win behind 25 points from senior guard Victor Joshua...Yet another Connecticut match-up featured a battle between two Class AAA unbeatens in South Kent and St Thomas More.  St Thomas More came out on top with a 89-83 victory to stay undefeated and at the same time knock South Kent off the no-loss bus...Suffield Academy opened their season with a 60-44 win over Avon Old Farms behind by a balanced attack led by Colin Pascoe's 15 points...Beaver Country Day strided out to 2-0 on the season with a 68-49 win over Berwick Academy after they opened their season on Monday with a 73-39 victory over Bancroft.  In the Bancroft win, freshman Jordan Scurry led Juan Figueroa's club with 21 points while Maurice Taylor had 15 and Jeff Spellman 12.  Meanwhile, in yesterday's win, Joe Connelly led four Beaver players in double-figures with 15...Salisbury moved to 2-1 on the year with an 82-62 win over Bershire.  Myles Jones had 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the way, while Chris McCullough finished with 15 points, Brandon Hedley had 14, and Samuel Dingba registered 6 points and 10 boards.  Bershire's Ahmad Reid topped all scorers for the game with 31...In other New England action, St Marks moved to 2-0 with a blow-out win on the road against BB&N, Cushing Academy advanced to 4-0 with a 9 point win over Holderness, and Tabor Academy moved to 2-1 with a 75-61 lopsided affair against Thayer Academy.
