Luke Westman: Old-School 3 Sport Star for Tigers |
Tigers set for Winter Hunt
- Another Division One squad with a shot to make a run at the crown is Newton North, a ball-club looking to make a run at what would be the third State Title of the 21st Century for the Tigers...Everything for Paul Connolly's squad will start with one of the best back-courts in the state in seniors Mike Thorpe and Luke Westman, a pair entering its' third season together as a starting back-court. Providing back-court depth for North behind Thorpe and Westman will be a pair of scrappy guards in senior Marlon Rainville and junior TJ McNicholas. Out on the wings for the Tigers will be senior sharp-shooter Jared Masinton, a long athletic slasher in Seamus Bruno and a trio of talented rookies in freshman Tommy Mobley and sophomores Liam Bruno and Jack Boucher...The Tiger Big-Man Bunk will be captained by one of the most under-the-radar players in the state in senior Barry Santana, a 6'3 workhorse 4-man who's a high-volume rebounder and who exemplifies the term, "play with desire." Another key player up front will be senior Tim Stanton, a high IQ player who knows how to facilitate. Additional front-court artillery for the Tigers will come in the form of intangible-minded senior Eric Hollenberg, sophomore wide-body powerhouse Jermel Wright, junior rebounder David Oludwara, and another talented freshman in Brett Stanton. The Tigers open up their season on Friday when they visit Norwood.
